This year, 29 employees signed up to give. "I give blood because it's an opportunity to help someone or save somebody's life," said Engineer Colton Sims (above). Safety Services Manager Buddy Manring said PowerSouth hosts blood drives because "Blood donation embodies the cooperative spirit, neighbor helping neighbor." "A pint of blood can save as many as three lives," Manring said. "We never know when that life saved could be our own, a loved one's or co-worker's. It is a small price to pay to help a neighbor in need." Lowman also hosts a blood drive near the end of each year. Brett Mack, Environmental Science Specialist, takes a soil sample on the grounds of the McIntosh Power Plant. GIVING BACK Engineer Colton Sims was one of 29 employees to donate blood at the headquarters blood drive.
